Here you can see the tracks that show where everything went. You can see two tire marks going across the double yellow line. The closest one turns out to not be related (it's from a car tire in some oil), but the second is the rear tire of the R51/3, locked up from the impact, skidding over to the left shoulder. You can see some dirt where the CHP worked to soak up some of the oil released when the left valve cover was broken. Ahead, in the middle of the lane, you can see where some oil came out of the broken left valve cover of the GS, as the bike skidded to a stop on the left cylinder, in the right shoulder. Just ahead of that inital arc is where Don was lying, face down, in the middle of the lane.
