My wife and I live in Santa Cruz, California, along with a wide variety of flora and fauna, which we enjoy very much. The weather is pleasant with the Pacific Ocean and Monterey Bay nearby, not to mention the beaches and hillsides that range from chaparral to live oak to dark redwood forest environs.

I am a computer consultant and programmer. Before moving to Santa Cruz, I was a homebrewer and beer judge, and wrote a book on the history, flavor and brewing of Bock beer. Over the last 20+ years, and especially now in Santa Cruz, I really enjoy riding BMW motorcycles, and working on my vintage BMW motorcycles. Be sure to check out the Castle Power System, our photovoltaic solar power system. For some of the same reasons that Santa Cruz is a great place for motorcycling, it is also a good spot for generating electricity from sunlight. And that's a big part of why we chose to live here!

• The 3rd Annual Beemers Under the Redwoods campout will be held on Saturday, September 15th. This has been a lot of fun the last two years, with a campout in the Santa Cruz mountains between Gilroy and Watsonville, under the redwoods and just 5 miles from beautiful Monterey Bay. This year the campout is a week later than normal. Follow the link to the information and signup pages!
• The 18th Annual California Coast Campout & BBQ, hosted by Tom Weiss, will be over the October 13/14th weekend. $20/person covers the cost of a BBQ dinner, drinks and camping.
